QUALITY CONTROL

 

Mt Tyson Piggeries trading as Silpurse is an accredited member of the APIQ (Australian Pork Industry Quality) program – by complying with the industry standards for the production of safe and wholesome pork, and implementing an ‘on farm HACCP plan.

 

All suppliers to Mount Tyson Piggeries are required to demonstrate and meet strict QA standards and to have in place satisfactory measures to meet any unsatisfactory contingencies.

The HACCP Plan contains Hazard Analysis Tables, Critical Control Points, HACCP team training, team procedures and contingency planning.

 

Other major factors in our QA program concern and detail; Critical Limits, Monitoring and Corrective Action, Verification Processes and Document Control.

 

Standard Operating Procedures and Training include: Piggery Hygiene, Sick Pig Treatments, Feed Systems, Vermin Control, Injection Protocols, Presale & Preparation of pigs for Transportation, Movement and Loading, Parasite testing and control, Piggery Maintenance, Animal Welfare, Staff Training.
